Visakha Government Degree College for Women is located in Visakhapatnam city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Visakha Government Degree College for Women came into existence in the year 1975 by the visakha Women’s College Society.
It was started in the International Women’s year 1975 and it was due to the constructive and conscious efforts of Sri. Singavarapu Surya Rao freedom fighter, philanthropist to fulfill the crying need for an educational institution exclusively for women in Visakhapatnam.
During the last few years the college has tried to develop its infrastructural facilities to meet the requirements of the growing strength. The CPDC committee works for community participation in the college development and mobilize public contribution.
It creates a right climate for academic cultural, social activities for the benefit of the students. Many activities for the welfare of the communities living in the neighbouring slums are undertaken by N.S.S Cooperation and Coordination are the basic requisites for efficient administration and academic excellence. There is a perfect coordination between the Principal, staff and students, with all the committees interacting with each other for organizing programmes and solving problems. The CPDC committee, the IQAC committee, the staff council with the principal as the chair person of all committees works together with complete coordination.
This college will go on serving the most deserving and needy sections of society with dedications and complete commitment and will try its best to produce morally and intellectually strong women who can become pillars of future India.
